Membership Terms & Conditions

1. Membership Services

1.1 Membership services and benefits will be supplied by the Penrith Valley Chamber of Commerce (PVCC) and our affiliates.

1.2 PVCC provides Members with a range of information and services as a part of its membership, including but not limited to access to potential referrals and business information.

1.3 The provision of such information is at all times at the absolute discretion of the Penrith Valley Chamber of Commerce (PVCC) and is subject to change, variation or cancellation at any time.

1.4 Details of the PVCC’s membership packages and the service and benefits offered by PVCC are provided on our Website and may be subject to change at any time.

2. Specialist Services

2.1 Supplemental, specialist and customised products may also be made available, on a fee for service basis, at a special rate for Members in most cases. Such products may include but are not limited to: Seminars, Workshops, Training Courses, Networking events amongst other Specialised Services.

3. Fees + Membership Renewal

3.1 Membership will continue provided that your membership fees are not in arrears. Membership fees will be reviewed annually and may be subject to increase at our discretion. We will notify you of any change to membership fees in accordance with the Constitution.

3.2 Membership fees for new members are payable on application and the member will be notified of acceptance of their application pending approval by the Board. 3.3 We may cancel any membership where membership fees are in arrears. In this circumstance, we reserve the right to:

  • recover the monetary benefit of any membership discount(s) by you whilst you were in arrears; and
  • withdraw the benefit of the membership discount if payment for services received and/or products supplied are not paid in full within 30 days of receipt of the invoice.

3.4 If you sign up you permit us to direct debit or process your payment each year or month as agreed in writing with us. You will be notified in advance of any auto renewal, a receipt will be issued for any payment and you will be able to opt out at anytime by emailing us directly.

3.5 By entering into membership with the Penrith Valley Chamber, you acknowledge that you that you will automatically be connected with the Business NSW Local Chamber Alliance. If you wish to opt out of this, please email us directly info@penrithvalley.org.au. You also authorise us to provide your details to Business NSW who will add you to their mailing list as part of the Chamber Alliance. 4. Fees + Membership Renewal Continued

4.1 We offer payment of membership fees via direct debit arrangement, credit card or cheque. Membership fees can be paid yearly or monthly in advance. If you pay monthly, then the number of payments is twelve (12) payments per annum and will include a processing fee. New members joining the Chamber by way of monthly subscription must retain their membership for a minimum period of 12 months, after which you may cease subscription payments at any time.

4.2 Should you elect to pay your membership subscription via monthly direct debit, your membership will be renewed automatically unless your membership is cancelled by you by providing written notice to us at least (30) days prior to the beginning of your new membership term.

5. Membership Verification / Validation

5.1 Upon receipt of the membership payment you are recorded as a Member pending approval of the PVCC board.

5.2 All Members are issued with a username and password.

5.3 Only financial Members are able to access the Member services such as the Members Only Section of the Website and others that may be added from time to time.

5.4 A password will need to be created by the member by accessing our member login on the Website and clicking lost password and entering your email address to have your password updated.

5.5 You should keep your password secure and not disclose it to anyone. In circumstances where you cannot remember your membership log in/password and cannot access it automatically via the website, you can contact our office on 61 2 47 22 6969 (BH) and they will be able to assist you, or email info@penrithchamber.org.au.

5.6 If any of your details change, such as your address, email address and/or telephone number, you must inform us as soon as possible since changes may impact upon our ability to deliver your membership services. You can also update your change of details through the website after logging on as a member.

6. Lapsing Of Membership

6.1 Where a Member’s subscription is overdue, access to membership services and benefits may be denied pending payment of any outstanding subscription or other fees.

6.2 We reserve the right to cancel any membership in accordance with the Constitution where membership fees are in arrears.

7. Termination Of Membership

7.1 Any Member who abuses, offends or puts at risk any member of the Association’s staff or any contractor in the carrying out of their usual duties may be notified to the Board for further action.

7.2 In such cases the Board of Directors has the power to expel the person from membership of the Association. On expulsion from the Association, the Member forfeits all rights and claims on the Association.

8. Fair Use Of Information And Advice

8.1 You agree:

  • that any information we provide to you is for your use only;
  • not to use information for commercial resale or gain;
  • not to provide such information to any third party for the use or benefit of the third party;
  • not to use your access to our information to obtain information for the use of a third party.

9. Refund Policy

9.1 Membership Fees are non-refundable.

10. Voting Rights

10.1 Only financial Members have the right to vote in Board Elections and at meetings of PVCC.

11. Disclaimer

11.1 We are not a legal service and should not be relied upon in place of specific legal advice.

11.2 We disarm any liability, loss or risk incurred as a consequence, directly or indirectly, of the use of any of the information, services or advice given.

12. Privacy Statement

12.1 Your privacy is important to us. Personal information which we collect is used for the purpose of providing you with information about the range of membership services and benefits available. We may also use your personal information to keep you informed of the events and seminars which may be of interest to you and to provide you with promotional and marketing material about our products and services.

12.2 We will list your basic business information on the PVCC website directory listing. By accepting membership with us, you consent to this sharing of information.

12.3 Our Privacy Policy is available on our Website. You may request personal information we hold about you by emailing info@penrithchamber.org.au us or by contacting us directly on 47 22 6969.

13 Interpretation + Definitions

13.1 Personal pronouns: Except where the context otherwise provides or requires: – the terms “we”, “us” or “our” refer to PVCC, and
– the terms “you” or “your” refers to Member.

Defined terms: In this document, unless otherwise provided, the following terms shall have their meaning as specified:

PVCC means the Penrith Valley Chamber of Commerce Inc. (ABN 82 052 267 306) Member means a person or entity that has agreed to become a member of PVCC and be bound by this document and the PVCC Constitution. 

NSWBC means the NSW Business Chamber Limited (CAN 000 014 504) Website means our website at www.penrithchamber.org.au.
